  • The CHS Library will be holding the first Book Club meeting of the spring semester on Tuesday, January 23, during BOTH lunches. Please feel free to stop by and see if this is something you would like to be a part of this semester or come by the library for more information.
  • The CHS Library is having a "Love Your Pet" Photo Contest. Winners will be announced February 14, so get your photos turned in! There are flyers throughout the building with the link to submit your photos or come by the library for more information. Additional information will be sent to your school email.
  • Softball fan shirt order forms are available outside the Front Office. Turn your forms and money into Coach Coffee in room 2305 by next Friday, January 26.
  • Any Junior or Sophomore who missed the meeting and is interested in applying for Eagles Inc, please come by rooms 1106, 1107, or 1108 (by the stairs) for an application.

  • UIL has announced realignment for 2018-19 and 2019-2020. CHS will move to 4A.
  • “Sing a Song for the Glorious Season,” the choir concert held at WTAMU, featuring the CHS Chamber Choir and WTAMU Choirs and Orchestra, on Sunday will be rebroadcast on Panhandle PBS at the following date/times:

  • If you missed out on donating at last month’s blood drive, you have an opportunity to give this Saturday, December 2, at the Canyon Public Library from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Donors who give this Saturday will be eligible to donate again by the time the Spring Blood Drive gets here!

  • Congratulations to the six journalism students who represented Canyon High School at the national convention this weekend. Of the 5,000 students attending, our six rose to the top of the competitors to bring home awards for individual writing competitions held in Dallas. More than 1,500 students competed in the contests, and of those, only 100 were awarded superior medals. Seniors Jillian Howell and Braden Lefevre were two of the superior medal winners.

  • Thanks to everyone who donated to Key Club’s Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF project! We collected a little over $336. This is enough to purchase 560 doses of tetanus vaccine and protect 186 women in the developing world against Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus!

  • Nominations for Homecoming Queen and King are now being accepted from students via Google Classroom. Teachers have received instructions. Nominations will be accepted until Tuesday, October 10, at 4 p.m.
  • Key Club will meet today during Activity Period.
  • If you are interested in playing in the powder puff football game on Thursday, October 19th, there is a sign-up sheet in the front office. You must sign up before Friday, October 13th.
  • There will be a Business Club Meeting today during Activity Period in Mrs. Cook’s room. All Business Club members need to attend today’s meeting.

  • A big Congratulations to Mrs. Skalsky and Citori Harris for being our Canyon High School Teacher and Student of the month for October.Mrs. Skalsky’s dedication to making CHS students the best they can be expands far beyond her own classroom. Mrs. Skalsky walks the walk as a teacher, class sponsor, and cheer sponsor for CHS. Mrs. Skalsky spends countless hours making sure it all goes off without a hitch. Thank You Mrs. Skalsky for all you do!Citori Harris has numerous academic accomplishments, you’d never know by looking at her accolades she’s only freshman. Most recently, Citori received a scholarship from VFW Post 420 for her essay submitted to the “Patriot Pin Essay”. Citori, you continue to make Canyon High School proud. Congrats, and we look forward to the coming years of excellence. Head upstairs and check out the display case dedicated to these two Eagles.Once again, congrats to Mrs. Skalsky and Citori Harris on being CHS Teacher and Student of the Month.

  • HELPING HOUSTON ISD: The Student Councils of CHS and Randall HS are collaborating in an effort to raise school supplies and personal hygiene items for Houston ISD, which has been affected by Hurricane Harvey. The goal is to fill up an entire semi-truck by OCTOBER 1. Please help in this relief effort! Donations are accepted at the front office of both CHS and RHS. Drop off your donations by October 1!

  • Eagles! Are you ready for some football?!? TONIGHT is your first chance to show your Canyon Eagle spirit! Our 3 football teams will be scrimmaging Lubbock Estacado at Kimbrough stadium. Freshmen and JV teams both begin at 5:00. Varsity will begin between 6:30-7:00. Be there! Wear purple! Be loud!

  • Good luck to Eagle Volleyball in San Angelo Tournament on August 17-18.
  • Good luck also goes to the CHS Varsity Tennis team as they travel to play NorthWest and Nelson in Ft. Worth.
  • If you are interested in joining Key Club, please come by Mr. Culbert’s room (1306) to pick up a membership form. Key Club is a great way to make friends and serve the community. We will have our first meeting next week, so listen to the announcements for a time.
  • Attention, cosmetology students: You will meet in the library 7th and 8th period until August 29.
  • Anyone who would like to be on the FCA leadership team: please sign-up with one of the coaches in school.
  • Student Crime Stoppers is looking for two new board members to represent Canyon High School. Board members meet once a month and typically go to a student crime stoppers conference each year. For additional information come see or find Officer Roach.
  • Auditions for the All School Musical will be held next week, August 24 and 25 at 6:00 p.m. in the Auditorium.
  • Interested in joining Student Council? Come down to room 1208 to grab a form
  • Any student interested in joining the Spanish Club must pick up a registration form from room 1105. Those that filled out the registration form but have not paid the fee, please go by room 1105 as well to get that done as soon as possible.
